Arrest for outstanding warrant leads to meth lab bust
On November 23, 2012, deputies from the Washington County Virginia Sheriff's Office went to the residence of Scott Graham Rhoten, 30009 Hillman Hwy, Meadowview, VA 24361, to arrest him on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
According to Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman, Rhoten tried to sneak out a back window while attempting to dispose of a quantity of pseudo ephedrine tablets. Deputies conducted a search of the residence and discovered three, one pot methamphetamine labs, methamphetamine precursors and a small quantity of methamphetamine. Rhoten was charged with the following:
Three counts of manufacturing methamphetamine 18.2-248.03
Possession of methamphetamine precursors 18.2-248 and
Possession of methamphetamine 18.2-250.
Rhoten was taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon where he is being held without bond. An arraignment date is set for November 26, 2012, at 9 am, in Washington County General District Court.
