Black Male Abducts Three Children and other Crimes

by Lewis Loflin

Joshua Lamont Lee, 28, of Castlewood had been released on bond June 25 after being charged with assault and unlawful injury charges for an incident May 31. Perhaps he should have stayed in jail because now he's right back in jail this time with no bond.

On July 12th he assaulted his so-called girl friend at a local Food Country parking lot. He stole her car with three children, aged 3 years, 16 months and eight months. There's no mention of the children being his. The victim called police and the woman's Grand Prix was found at a local subdivision. He and the children were found about a half mile away two hours later according to press reports.

In addition to his original charges, we can add three counts of felony child abduction and one more count of domestic assault. This is additional information from WFHG:

A Russell County man has been arrested in Washington County, Virginia. 28 year old Joshua Lamont Lee of Castlewood is alleged to have taken his girlfriend's vehicle with her three small children inside. The two had become involved in a fight in the parking lot of Food Country on the Porterfield Highway. Lee fled the scene in the car.

It was spotted a short time later abandoned in the Stone Mountain subdivision. K-9s and Medflight were called in to locate the suspect and the three children. Lee has been charged with three counts of felony child abduction and one count of assault. He is being held without bond.

Man gets 14 years for BB Gun Robbery

Edited extract Associated Press July 12, 2011

32-year-old Ronnie Lee Dawson of Morristown has been sent to prison for 14 years in his 14th robbery case. Dawson pleaded guilty in February to the 2009 holdup of a Dollar General Store with a BB gun. A federal judge in Greenville sentenced him to 14 years in Federal prison while his 13 previous robbery convictions were in a state court.

Dawson had been released only months before the BB gun robery from state prison. He'd served less than five years of a 16-year sentence and was on parole for the 13 prior robberies. Judge Ronnie Greer reminded Dawson there is no parole in the federal system.

Comment: How the hell does somebody serve less than five-years of a 16-year sentence after 13 robberies?
