Wanted Fugitive arrested hiding under bed with girlfriend

According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, Washington County Deputies along with agents of the U.S. Marshall Service did attempt a warrant service early this morning at 175 Candle Knob Rd. in Johnson City, TN.

Deputies were attempting to locate Terry M Shepherd of 192 Rosewood Cir #4 in Elizabethton on outstanding Warrants of Violation of Probation in which the original charges were Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault and Evading Arrest as well as new charges of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Impersonation, Evading Arrest (2 Counts), Driving While License Is Suspended Or Revoked and Obstruction of Service of Legal Writ and Process.

Mr. Shepherd's new charges stem from a traffic stop on March 21, 2012 where a Deputy was injured by being dragged along side of Mr. Shepherd's vehicle while he was fleeing the scene.

Mr. Shepherd was located inside the residence on Candle Knob Rd. hiding under a bed with his girlfriend Marah Ledford of 192 Rosewood Cir #4 in Elizabethton. Mr. Shepherd was taken into custody at that time without further incident and is being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center.

Ms. Ledford was also arrested on charges of Filing a False Statement or Report to an Officer, Accessory After The Fact and Obstruction of Service of Legal Writ and Process. Ms. Ledford is also being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $10,300 bond.
